The Happy Valley Tennis Club hosted a $US75,000 ATP Challenger Event in January 2015, 2016 and 2017. The City of Onkaparinga, Tennis Australia and Tennis SA worked closely with the Organising Committee from the Happy Valley Tennis Club to bring this world class event to your doorstep.
The City Of Onkaparinga ATP Men’s Challenger Event was a professional men’s tennis tournament on the Australia/Asia Tennis Tour Calendar and part of the Australian Pro Tour series. It was one of only six ATP Challenger events to be held in Australia when it was on. Positioned as a lead-in event to the Australian Open Grand Slam, it was played in the same week as the Brisbane International during Australia’s Summer of Tennis in January. Amongst the very strong field we had a number of players from the top 100 in the world enter. In 2015 this included Marcos Baghdatis , Ryan Harrison and Paul Henri-Mathieu. The 2016 event saw the Number 1 Junior in the World finish Runner Up to Dudi Sela. Both went on to participate in the Australian Open main draw. This is a fantastic opportunity to see world class tennis up close!
